Today was the first GLA Sharing Circle! Cathy Noganosh did a terrific job as the leader for this group! When we first discussed this idea, of a short online session where we could meet, share and be encouraged as we start off our week, I was intrigued, but not sure how it would work! But it did – and I am looking forward to next week’s session!
The topic was Ziisbaakadake Giizis – the Sugar Moon! As a someone who has grown up looking forward to each March and the fresh taste of Maple Syrup – it was a subject that I thought I knew everything about! But Cathy taught us about birch buckets for collecting and related it all to this teaching:
Todays Ojibway Teaching – Respect
Sap from the maple tree is sent to us from
Shkakimi-kwe, Mother Earth. It is refreshment
in its purest form. It teaches us to respect our
bodies. By taking care of our bodies and
eating and drinking healthy, we are showing
Gzheminidoo that we respect the body that we
have been given.

Thanks to everyone that participated – and join us next Monday at 2pm ET 1pm CT for the next GLA Sharing Circle!
