Growing and Glowing with PARO
Are you an Aboriginal woman living in Northwest Ontario? Do you want to start your own business?
Then PARO Centre for Women’s Enterprise may be where you want to start.
In addition to the workshops listed below, Good Learning Anywhere will be partnering with PARO in the Fall 2012 to bring programming to learners across Ontario. Stay tuned to further announcements on this initiative.
For the month of May, PARO is offering some great courses to start Aboriginal women on their pursuit to self-employment. Building on the concept of business clusters, experienced Aboriginal business women will guide participants through the steps “to create a business to foster cultural/traditional teachings” to a group of women in the community
The Aboriginal Workshop – Cluster Series is open to anyone who is interested in learning about business.

A Call for Nominations – 2012 Learner Awards
Last year, Good Learning Anywhere awarded two learners with awards that celebrated their achievement and leadership. This year, we are looking for two learners that embody the spirit of our online community.
The Ivy Tabobondung Award for Leadership is awarded to the learner who has shown leadership in the GLA learning community, whether it is through online communication and classes or in their physical community. We will also consider learners who have advocated for and supported other learners and non-learners in their goals and dreams.
A Good Learning Anywhere Spring
Spring has been in the air for a few weeks now, but here at GLA, we’re just getting started with some new adventures and a few changes to our organization.
Some of you may have already noticed those changes, and I thought this would be a great chance to share what’s been going on at our headquarters.
